This was stated by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, during the opening of Murdoch University International Study Centre Dubai Campus on Monday.

The minister stressed the importance of opening new universities in the UAE to support the country's efforts to drive higher education in the region to world class standards.

“The presence of a reputable institute such as Murdoch University in our cluster, alongside other world-class universities, will indeed complement our vision to be the regional base for premier international higher education institutions.

“We are confident its presence in Dubai will bring us one step closer to the education objectives outlined in the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015,” said Dr Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director of Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City.

Students at the Dubai Campus can access library facilities, download lectures and interact with the university's students in any of the seven international campuses to “familiarise” themselves with each other.

Over 40 students are enrolled for graduate courses in Commerce, Media, Mass Communication and Master of Business Administration.
