The existing temporary light signal at the intersection of Oud Meitha Road with Business Bay Crossing Road near Bukedra will be removed ensuring free traffic movement in both directions between Business Bay Crossing and Al Khail Road at Bukedra Interchanges.

Meanwhile, the RTA is also working to implement the Business Bay Crossing Project consisting of six different contracts at an estimated cost of Dh1.2 billion.

Engineer Maitha bin Adai, CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency said that the project will create a new express corridor from the first Interchange of Shaikh Zayed Road (Defence Intersection) to Doha Road, Jadaf area, passing through to Business Bay Crossing over the Creek, and then to Nad Al Hamar Road towards Airport Tunnel. “Work in two of these contracts was completed early this year after which Business Bay Crossing and Ras Al Khor Interchanges at Nad Al Hamar were opened,” she explained.

“The third contract has also been completed with bridges constructed at Business Bay Crossing Rd at Za’abeel area (near Al Wasl Sports Club) and was opened to traffic earlier this month,” she said.
