‘Murjan’ Splash Park provides a diversified entertainment environment with recreational facilities and educational tools within an exciting platform inspired by the magic of the vibrant sea world. The park primarily targets children and families.

Abdullah Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director of Infrastructure and Municipal Assets described the Murjan park as one of the pioneering projects initiated by the Municipality in pursuance of ensuring superior living standards and sustainable environment for Abu Dhabi residents.

Murjan depicts the keen interest of the Municipality to provide recreational avenues and diverse alternatives to the residents of the metropolitan area and encourage them to avail of these facilities which are constantly upgraded by the Municipality to bring them in line with world-class standards in terms of healthy environment, modern services and security for all family and community members, said Al Shamsi.

The park comprises an adventure land with water fixtures, areas for play, food outlets and comfortable seating areas.

Exciting underwater events are highlighted by multi-coloured umbrellas and images of aquatic creatures as well as staggering theatrical lighting and sound system which help create an interactive multi-fun environment, Al Shamsi added.

The main feature of the Murjan park is the children’s play structure located in a shallow pool with four small waterslides, a giant tipping bucket, a crawl tunnel, water guns, a water umbrella, small tipping buckets, a water wheel and showers.

It also has a 257-metre lazy river that is 0.6 meters deep where one can relax in a tube and ride it around the twists and turns of the parks. It also contains four trampolines with harnesses for fun lovers to jump and flip on.

Guests will be able to pilot their own dhow around obstacles, through tunnels and past other boats in the Radio Controlled Dhow Derby. The park within the Khalifa Park is part of the endeavours of the Municipality to provide all resources that contribute to making Abu Dhabi an ideal place for living.

The municipality strives to offer visitors along with their families access to a world of fun and recreation for practicing hobbies and entertainment activities in a private and secure environment. The Abu Dhabi Municipality has, however, urged residents not to vandalise public recreational facilities as it has come to its notice that a segment of the community is causing damage to public parks and walkways.

The ADM has called on the public to cooperate in maintaining the properties.

Opening timings

The opening timings of the park will be from 4pm to 11pm in September. From October to April, the park will be all open from 10am to 6pm on weekdays (from Sunday to Wednesday) and from 10am to 7pm during weekends (from Thursday to Saturday). Inside the Khalifa Park, the splash park is located near the Falcon entrance.
