More radars to curb speeding

DUBAI - The number of fixed and mobile radars will be increased in Dubai to catch motorists exceeding speed limits and discouraging others from committing the offence.

Brigadier Essa Aman, Acting Director of Traffic General Directorate, has observed that speeding is the main reason behind traumatic accidents.

A total of 86,315 out of the 131,832 fines imposed last month were against drivers of speeding vehicles. While 16,251 fines were levied in the presence of the violators, 115,581 fines were issued in absentia, Brig. Aman said.
