The Nigerian national, who has been identified as Haji O., was pronounced dead at 8.30am same day.
According to the police, the victim, who came to the UAE on a visit visa, went with his friends to a night club around Tuesday midnight and drank a considerable amount of alcohol.
Later, they went to the Jumeirah beach.
Ignoring the requests of his friends to take some rest, Haji went to swim in the sea.
After a while, his friends could not spot him swimming. Though they searched the shallow waters, they could not trace him.
They informed the Dubai Police.
A coast guard rescue team, which arrived at the scene, fished out his body after a while.
The doctors at the General Department of Forensic Medicine confirmed that Haji was drunk.
The port police station yesterday released the body after the completion of legal procedures.
