Teachers in Ras Al Khaimah have resigned in protest after more than 25 years of service without a raise or a promotion.
The Ministry of Education allegedly accepted the letters of resignation without an exit interview to discuss their cases nor taking into consideration the reasons behind them taking such drastic action, as per Al Khaleej report.
One of the teachers, an Emirati who served for 27 years in the profession, graduated from UAE University in 1991.
He relates that the ever-increasing expectation in terms of course-work and teaching load with no incentive or recognition of his efforts led him to take the step.
The ministry approved his resignation letter in less than ten days of his submitting it. He only received an email stating that his resignation was accepted.
