Friday, January 1 - New Year's Day
The New Year's Day is observed on January 1, the first day of the year on the modern Gregorian calendar as well as the Julian calendar.
Thursday, May 05: 'Al Israa Wal Miraaj' holiday
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has declared on Thursday, May 05, an official holiday for the public sector to mark the 'Al Israa Wal Miraaj' holiday. The work will resume on Sunday, May 8.
Monday, Jun 06: Ramadan working hours announced
The working hours for public sector employees will be from 9 am to 2 pm during the Holy Month of Ramadan, while working hours for private sector employees will be reduced by two hours.
Thursday, Jul 06: Nine-days holiday for Eid Al Fitr in UAE
The UAE Cabinet has approved Eid Al Fitr holiday of Federal entities, starting from Sunday, July 3, with work resuming on Sunday, July 10, 2016. The nine-day holiday is counting the Friday and Saturday weekly offs that are before and after the five-day Eid week.
Long Eid Al Adha break for UAE public sector
The Eid Al Adha holidays in UAE for the public sector will be from September 11 to September 17, and offices will resume from September 18. The private sector would have three holidays from September 11-13 on the occasion of Haj and Eid Al Adha, an announcement said.
UAE announces three-day weekend for National Day
The National Day and Commemoration Day holidays for employees of ministries and federal government departments will begin on Thursday, December 1, with work resuming on Sunday, December 4, according to a circular issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.
