With UAE schools and universities preparing for campus reopening after the summer break, the Ministry of Education (MoE) recently issued a circular, advising all students, teachers and staff be screened before the start of classes.
The circular, a copy of which was studied by Khaleej Times, detailed comprehensive guidelines that included testing phases and the protocol that will be followed if a Covid case is detected during the school year.
Covid-19 testing will be done in phases and start on August 16. Here are the dates specified in the MoE circular:

For students

AUGUST 23
Start of testing for students in public and private schools
> Screening will be divided in four phases: 30% will tested in the first phase, 20% for the second, and 25% for the third and fourth
> A total of 1.12 million schoolchildren will be screened, 281,294 of them are in public schools and 838,233 are in private schools
AUGUST 16-20
First phase of testing for students at higher education institutions
(45,958 will be screened during this period)
AUGUST 23 to 29
Second phase of testing for university and college students (59,746 will screened in one stage and 25,605 for another stage)

For teachers

AUGUST 16-20
Testing period specified for teachers
>A total of 141,291 teachers will be screened (43,800 of them are in public schools and 97,491 are in private schools)

For school staff

AUGUST 16 to 20
Testing period for administrative and teaching staff
>A total of 20,032 staff members will be tested
