This Year of Tolerance, 100 students of 100 nationalities are adopting acts of kindness 'one leaf at a time', through a campaign launched by School Transport Services (STS).
For the drive called 'Stuff the Bus with Kindness', STS has prepared a 3m-by-3m board with a Year of Tolerance logo for its school bus, and kids were asked to write down an act of kindness on a leaf.
The 'kindness leaves' are then pasted on the board, right on the Ghaf tree of the tolerance logo. It will be displayed on the STS bus throughout the month.
To keep the momentum going this Ramadan, STS motivates students to be 'super kind' and do good deeds, such as collecting items for donation. The bus will travel to over 82 schools in the UAE during the holy month, and students and parents are encouraged to donate school items and supplies that will be handed over to Emirates Red Crescent.
Students will also create a unique formation of the Year of Tolerance logo, using the supplies collected from 82 schools in the region.
Steve Burnell, managing director of STS, said: "The holy month of Ramadan is important to us, and the Stuff the Bus campaign gives us that chance to support the less privileged around the world. This year, in light of the UAE Year of Tolerance, it is fantastic to see so many students of over 100 nationalities come together to help the less fortunate by donating items to Emirates Red Crescent."
Through the campaign, STS is highlighting the importance of educating students on kindness and how communities can come together to help others.
