Kapil Sharma, a popular Indian comedian who runs the Netflix show 'The Kapil Sharma Show', has said that he will be opening his very own 'Kap's Cafe' in the UAE.

'Kap's Cafe', an eatery inspired by the set of his Netflix show, has a branch in Canada's Surrey, and is set for a New Year's Eve opening in Dubai.

The announcement was made on Instagram, with a short video starting with the Dubai skyline, and then zooming in to the cafe, where a smiling Sharma welcomes a customer with a coffee in hand.

Photos posted online give us a glimpse into the cafe, which follows the general interior decoration style of its Canada branch. With soft greens and light pinks, the cafe promises to be a cosy — and Instagrammable — space.

The cafe will be open on December 31 from 4pm to 12am. While the menu has not been revealed, the other location features Indian and Western favourites, from vada pav to pasta, along with a wide range of coffees, teas and matchas.

Shooting in Canada

However, the history of the cafe itself is not spotless. Just this year, a shooting incident at the Canada location of Kap's Cafe caused a stir. According to media reports, bullets were fired at the glass of the eatery, even shattering a window.

Indian Police later arrested an Indian man — who had worked in Dubai briefly as a waiter — for allegedly planning the shooting.
