Indian mimicry artist to perform in Dubai

DUBAI - A record holder for playing mouth organ continuously for 101 hours, Trichur Nazeer will perform for his Dubai audience on March 4.

Nazeer, an artist from Kerala in India, also holds the record for performing mimicry continuously for 40 hours. He was recently seen at the Community Stage at the Global Village. Nazeer is a self learner in mouth organ and had his first record registered in Limca Book of Records in Delhi in 1990 by playing the mouth organ continuously for five hours. He entered the Guinness Book of World Records in 2005 in Mumbai by playing the mouth organ continuously for 101 hours.

Nazeer can play Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil tunes and imitates nearly 100 different film stars and politicians in both Hindi and Malayalam. He can also make sounds of birds and animals. “I can also imitate three sounds at one time and I am a one man orchestra ensemble,” he added. Dressed in white, he presents the image of a 50's rockstar. As he plays the tunes of Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost on the mouth organ, you are tempted to hum along with him.

He had played over 4,000 tunes till date. He sings as well and that adds to the number of talents he possesses. Nazeer also has the award for the first in-flight performance. He said, “I made that record on a flight from Kerala-Delhi-Mumbai.” - deepa@khaleejtimes.com
