Indian expat in UAE wins $1 million in Dubai Duty Free draw

The winner remains unreachable and is the 273rd Indian to win the jackpot since its launch in 1999

An Indian expat has become the latest winner of the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotion, after bagging $1 million in the latest draw held on Wednesday.

Mahendihasanj Jamani, an Indian based in the UAE, won the top prize in Millennium Millionaire Series 538 with ticket number 1324, which was purchased online on February 26.

Jamani is the 273rd Indian national to win the $1 million prize in the Millennium Millionaire promotion since its launch in 1999. Indian nationals remain the largest purchasers of tickets in the draw. The winner remains unreachable.

Following the Millennium Millionaire draw, the Finest Surprise promotion was held for two luxury prizes.

Juliepatric Jennings, a British national based in the UK, won a Mercedes-Benz S500 (Manufaktur Paint White) car with ticket number 0611 in Finest Surprise Series 1950. The winning ticket was purchased in Concourse A on February 6. Due to the time difference in the UK, Jennings was not immediately available for comment.

Saqer Alnaqbi, a 31-year-old Emirati national based in Ras Al Khaimah, won a BMW F 900 GS Adventure (Sage Green Metallic) motorbike with ticket number 0816 in Finest Surprise Series 660. The ticket was purchased online on March 7.

A regular participant in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotion for the past two years, Alnaqbi expressed delight after hearing about the win, “Thank you Dubai Duty Free. You have made my day very happy today.”
