His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received on Tuesday at Zabeel Palace, the Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), Dr. Amal Al Qubaisi and members of FNC. The speaker visited him to seek his guidance to upgrade the performance and noble message of the FNC to serve the nation and citizens.
Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, was also present at the meeting.
Welcoming the FNC speaker and the members, Shaikh Mohammed congratulated them on winning the seats in the recent FNC elections, describing the FNC as "a national institution that represents people and enjoys the support of the wise leadership, who look forward to activating the parliament's role to consolidate the concept of national work in terms of rendering service to the people and community."
While interacting with Dr. Al Qubaisi and the FNC members, the Shaikh Mohammed said his government and the FNC should work as one team to overcome obstacles that could hinder the sustainable development process outlined by the wise leadership to ensure the welfare of Emirati people and the coming generations.
"We put at the top of our priorities human resources to ensure happiness. Hence, I ask you, my brothers and sisters, to cooperate with the government to assess the needs of citizens and convey them to the leadership and the government. We are fully prepared to hear your views and thoughts with satisfaction as long as they aim to serve our dear loyal people," Sheikh Mohammed added.
Addressing them, he urged the parliamentarians to liaise between the government and the people, and learn from the experiences of others who had preceded them in the fields of national work. "I, personally, do not feel comfortable if I do not discover something new to benefit my country and people as well."
Shaikh Mohammed concluded by wishing the speaker and the FNC members all success in carrying out their national responsibilities with sincerity, efficiency and transparency. - Wam
