Ajman Police on Saturday denied rumours that a 13-year-old boy went missing in the emirate.
In a tweet posted on its official social media account, Ajman Police clarified that the news was fake.
Sources close to the matter said the child had left home due to family disputes. However, the police returned him safely to his family in less than 14 hours, after the child's father sought authorities' help to locate the youngster.
While certain individuals circulated a rumour describing the child as ‘missing’, the authority confirmed the teen had been reunited with his parents on the same day.
In a social media post, the police warned people against spreading baseless rumours and urged them to obtain information only from verified and official sources.
