DUBAI - Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, wants to keep pace with his father's giant steps towards the development of the emirate and the country.
In an interview with Zee Television yesterday, Shaikh Hamdan stated that it was “almost impossible” to keep pace with his father, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. “I want to keep on doing my father's job. I just want to do what he is doing at present. It is impossible to keep pace with him. Dubai is seeing so many changes and we need to run fast. I am just following in my father's footsteps,” he said. Talking about his love for horse-riding, he added that the current generation is certainly interested in the sport. “The current generation is getting into and participating in horse-riding which is a very good sign.
Our next endurance race would be the President's Cup. I believe in my team and my horses. I am sure they will do very well,” he added.
The Crown Prince has got his own horse-riding team called Fazaa Endurance Team.
“Horses are my life. I have been into horse-riding since the age of four. I love horses and riding relaxes me,” he remarked.
Popularly known as Fazaa, Shaikh Hamdan has a penchant for poetry, both patriotic and romantic. Like his ancestors, he, too, enjoys falconry.
