Shaikh Mohammed opens Museum of Future Govt Services
Shaikh Mohammed said the Government Summit has evolved as a major international platform and established the UAE as a global hub for govt development.

Dubai — His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday welcomed guests at the third Government Summit, being held under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments’, and attended by heads of state, senior officials of international organisations and high-ranking government officials.
Mohammed to open Govt Summit today
Dubai — His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will open the third Government Summit at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai today.
The summit, under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments’, will continue till February 11.
Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Government Summit, said that the first day of the summit will bring together around 4,000 participants from as many as 93 countries, including heads of state, prime ministers, vice-presidents, ministers, diplomats and representatives of international organisations.
This, he noted, affirms that the summit is a global platform for exchanging the best practices in government services, and also an international event aimed at shaping future governments. He added that this also proves that the UAE, under the leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has become an international hub for government development.
Shaikh Mohammed is closely following all the details and arrangements of the summit. General Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, will be, for the first time, a keynote speaker at the summit. This gives a new depth and new dimension to the summit and its topics.”
“The third edition of the summit will be more unique and more evolutionary as it will work on ways to put government development on the right track for the future through an outlook that is based on an appreciation of, and belief in, the importance of keeping pace with development and preparing well for future challenges and demands,” Gergawi added.
On her part, Ohood Al Roumi, Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Office, and Deputy Chairperson of the Organising Committee of the Government Summit, said the third edition of the event is based on the fact that “governments are required to learn the language of the future” and drive their potentials towards reinvigorating innovation and creativity.
Al Roumi added that to achieve this goal, the summit is bringing together innovation leaders and people with successful experiences from across the world to share and promote best practices. — Wam

Built around a futuristic, interactive, life-sized street, the Museum of Future Government Services showcases how technology over the coming years will radically transform government services in areas such as healthcare, education, mobility and smart city planning. It also features a laboratory for research, design and innovation, particularly for government entities.
The museum has been developed by an international team of 180 researchers, designers and experts from around the world, and serves as a new approach that will pave the way for citizens and governments to work together to address future concerns.
At the opening of the museum, Shaikh Mohammed said: “Innovation is the key to prosperity, and governments must invest in research, development and innovation more than other sectors because they are closely related to the development of human life. Innovation is the best way to improve the quality of lifestyle, and it is not an option anymore but an imperative, especially with the changes and rapid evolution witnessed by the world.
“The real development of people is fundamental to the stability of nations. The development process cannot be sustained without creating an encouraging environment to stimulate innovation to identify the best solutions for all the challenges.
“We are confident that The Government Summit serves as a solid platform for the world to join hands in strengthening government development.... The Museum of Future Governmewnt Services highlights that the future will belong to those who can imagine it, design it and implement it today. We cannot wait for the future; it has to be designed and built today.”
