The online retailer aims to sell 100,000 mobile phones at the lowest prices, 50,000 watches with a starting price of Dh29, 10,000 litres of perfume, 100,000 litres of Pepsi and one million diapers at the lowest price of 58 fils per piece.
"We expect a massive sellout on the first day with around 12 million visitors," Souq.com co-founder and chief executive officer Ronaldo Mouchawar told reporters at the launch of the second edition of the Middle East's biggest online sale late on Wednesday.
Last year, Souq.com brought Black Friday to the Middle East for the first time, naming it White Friday. The e-commerce platform is bringing 10,000 exclusive deals and hoping to host 45 million visitors during the four-day sale.
"We noticed a slowdown in servers last year because of huge traffic and this year we are investing heavily on our servers to deal with the traffic," he added.
Huawei Honor, Samsung, Lenovo, One Plus, Sony PlayStation, Aldo, Guess, Pampers, Pepsi and Uber are amongst new and exclusive deals through White Friday 2015. Souq.com delivers goods in 40 cities in four countries - the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Egypt. He said that the mobile phones category contributes more than 50 per cent of the total turnover. Talking about the top markets, he said Saudi Arabia and the UAE are top two markets. "Last year, during White Friday, sales in both the markets were almost equal in terms of sales but this year we expect Saudi Arabia will be the biggest".
With m-commerce forming a key aspect of the retailer's growth strategy, Souq.com is already offering its mobile app users sneak peek access to deals ahead of White Friday across its broad range of products and leading brands.
Explaining the consumer benefit, Mouchawar said: "Souq.com is championing the factory-to-consumer model as it is opening the market up in terms of product diversity, as well as making globally revered brands more accessible to our customers."
In order to further drive credit card adoption as well as provide more ways to provide value to its consumers during White Friday, those who make a purchase using their MasterCard credit card will receive a further 10 per cent off all deals.
