The Fujairah Court of First Instance has ordered four men to let their 90-year-old father move back into his house to stay with his wife and stop interfering in the couple's affairs.
As per court records, the case unfolded when the wife filed a case against the four children of her husband, saying that they forced him to move out to another house away from hers and he could no longer satisfy her marital rights.
The sons argued that their father was too old to realise the many unjustified requests of his wife, who is allegedly a spendthrift and wasted his money all the time without consulting them.
They claimed that the woman had brought her family into the country and hosted them in the house for long periods of time.
"Our father takes care of his wife's family needs, including food and clothes, during their entire stay."
The men told the court that they never meant to have control over their father nor force him to do something against his will, or deprive his wife of her marital rights.
"We only wanted to protect his rights as a senior citizen who cannot take the right decision on his own," they said, noting that they also wanted to protect him against being exploited by his wife and her family.
"We do pay full attention to him and take care of all his needs."
However, the court turned down their plea, and ordered them to let their father move back into his house where he can stay with his wife.
They were also told to stop interfering in the couple's affairs, and let their father make the decisions.
