The Fujairah Civil Defence has managed to pull out a bus which got stuck while crossing the flooded Farfar Valley.
Brigadier Ali Al Tunaiji, director of the Fujairah Civil Defence, said: ""The well-trained and highly equipped rescue teams professionally towed away the stuck bus to safety. No one was hurt in the incident."
The teams have been attending to several emergency situations, Al Tunaiji disclosed.
All drivers need to strictly observe traffic rules and regulations and avoid speeding, he underlined. "Crossing the flooded valleys and driving up or close to the mountains is dangerous."
Meanwhile, some schools here in Fujairah and the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah have sent text messages to students' parents, alerting them that the schools shall remain closed on Sunday because of the blocked and waterlogged roads.
"Some roads have been cut off and landslides reported in some areas, particularly those close to the Ham Valley."
The RAK Police have also sent messages to all motorists advising them to reduce speed, avoid mountainous areas and gullies, and be extra vigilant.
