The moon was sighted earlier today from Jebel Jais.

UAE announced the first day of the holy month of Ramadan after the crescent was sighted on Thursday evening, Wam reported.
Ramadan will be begin on April 24 (Friday) in the UAE.

Earlier, according to a tweet by Astronomy Center, the moon was photographed on Thursday at 12.02pm from Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah.

The UAE moon sighting committee will meet later in the evening, after the Maghrib prayer, and official announce the beginning of the holy month.
