Lt Col. A'aref Al Kazz, from the RAK Police CID, said that the mother of the victim had received two Bangladeshi workers from a RAK-based Home Maintenance Company in the morning to do some repair work in her house.
She left the home with one of the workers to buy some materials that were required for doing the repair work while the other worker, a 20-year-old, stayed behind, with her daughter.
When the woman returned, she was shocked to find her daughter screaming after being raped by the worker.
The aggravated mother stabbed the suspect on various parts of his body with a knife several times before calling the Police.
The suspect was referred to the hospital for treatment.
Lt Col. Al Kazz extended his heartfelt sympathy to the family of the victim and noted that such indecent behaviour is inhuman and is contrary to teachings of Islam.
He warned parents to be careful with their young children, especially in the presence of male workers in their homes.
He stressed that the Police have geared up efforts to combat crimes involving child abuse and that anyone caught in such immoral acts would be dealt with strictly.
