Five Indian, Bangladeshi expats win Dh100,000 each in Big Ticket

Three weekly e-draws are still to come, with four winners each receiving a 200-gram, 24-karat gold bar. Winners will be announced on the Big Ticket website

Five winners took home Dh100,000 each in Big Ticket's Series 284 on Friday, March 13.

Mozammel Hoque Samsul Hoque, a 43-year-old contracts manager from Bangladesh, has been living in Dubai for four years. "I'm thrilled — I never expected this, but it feels amazing to finally win," he said. He has no immediate plans for the prize money but looks forward to continuing to participate. "Everyone should give it a try. You never know what can happen," he added.

Santhosh Paramurickal George, an Indian national, was overjoyed to discover his ticket — number 369813 — was a winner.

Kamlesh Patel, a 36-year-old elevator technician based in Kuwait since 2014, first came across Big Ticket through YouTube videos about four years ago. Inspired, he joined forces with a group of 11 friends to buy tickets together each month.

"We even helped one of our friends get a credit card so we could start purchasing tickets," he said. "When I got the winning call, it was an extremely happy moment for me and the whole group." The group plans to split the prize, with many intending to use their share to support their families. They also confirmed they will keep participating in future draws.

Chisma Chandran, an Indian national originally from Kerala, entered alongside a group of eight friends who regularly buy tickets together. She said the group was pleasantly surprised by the win and plans to continue participating in future draws.

Biju Erattayil, a 48-year-old technical engineer from Kerala, has lived in Dubai with his family for eight years and has been entering Big Ticket raffles for just as long, buying tickets once a year with a group of 10 friends. "I wasn't expecting this at all — it was such a wonderful surprise," he said. He has no immediate plans for the winnings but will continue buying tickets and encouraged others to do the same. "Give it a try. You never know when you'll get lucky."

Looking ahead, Big Ticket has announced a grand prize of Dh20 million to be awarded on April 3. During the live draw, five participants will also each receive a 200-gram, 24-karat gold bar as consolation prizes.

Customers who purchase two or more Big Ticket entries in a single transaction between March 1 and March 24 are eligible to attend the April 3 live draw and compete in The Big Win Contest. Four participants will be selected to compete for guaranteed cash prizes ranging from Dh50,000 to Dh150,000, with names to be announced on the Big Ticket website on April 1.

The Dream Car Series also continues alongside the cash draws, with a Maserati Grecale up for grabs on April 3, followed by a Land Rover Defender draw on May 3.
