Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) has launched a new, improved version of its Visit Abu Dhabi mobile application. The latest Visit Abu Dhabi app version, which allows users to gain instant access to all that's new in the emirate via their mobile phones, is now live and features several upgrades and enhancements as TCA Abu Dhabi continues to improve the functionality of the service.
Version 4.0 of the app, which al-lows access to the same content at the authority's destination portal, VisitAbuDhabi.ae, is available for iPhone, Android & Windows Phone, and will feature enhancements to make it a more user-friendly experience.
With content and services in nine languages - Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese - and a location-based functionality, the apps is a comprehensive, easy-to-navigate online and offline mobile guide giving instant and structured in-formation on Abu Dhabi's attractions, experiences, culture, heritage, hotels, restaurants.
"We've listened carefully to all your feedback and our app has been completely redesigned from top to bottom following the latest user ex-perience trends to make the whole experience even more immersive and easy to use," said Mouza Al Shamsi, acting executive-director of Marketing and Communications at TCA Abu Dhabi.
"All of the key features you're familiar with from our previous versions are still present but now they're even faster, smarter and bursting with functionality. "A number of useful and intui-tive new additions are also present, including integration with the Centre for Regulation of Transport by Hire Cars, which will allow users to book a taxi directly from within the app, and also integration with the Department of Transport to get live geo-located bus data, which will allow the user to discover the best route and schedule to get to any point of interest.
"The app has also been integrat-ed with TripAdvisor, to allow access to reviews for all locations, hotels and restaurants. The new features add to the al-ready comprehensive services offered by the app, which included extensive, up-to-date online and of-fline information on all there is to see and do in the emirate, 'Near Me' functionality, showing a user everything within easy reach, an 'Augmented Reality' feature, which allows the closest points of interest to be identified via a smartphone's camera, a comprehensive, easy-to-navigate map, a full listings of hotels, restaurants and spas with filters to find what's best for you and also an online booking feature for hotels, flights and car rental. There are also inspiring video and photo galleries, travel infor-mation and tips available offline, quick answers to most frequently asked questions and a currency converter, amongst other things.
