The service provider’s response was to assure its customers after network problems were reported in the area last week.

“Etisalat customers are not encountering any problems or disruptions while making phone calls, as there are no problems with Etisalat’s network, said a spokesperson yesterday.

Last week, Khaleej Times had reported du mobile users were facing network problems.

In its earlier statement, du had said that it covered areas away from main cities through the national roaming agreement with Etisalat, in line with the TRA’s framework and guidelines. The Adhan area in RAK is one such area. “du has also sent technical teams to investigate the problem," it said.

"As for problems that du is facing with its network in the Adhan area, Etisalat is ready and willing to work with du regarding their connection with Etisalat’s network in line with the TRA’s framework and guidelines, to help ensure continuation of their services to their customer,” said the spokesperson.

Both service providers, however, were unable to confirm when the problem would be sorted out.

Meanwhile, Shah Muhammad Shah, an Etisalat customer living in Adhan, said that he did not experience any network interruptions.

For Adnan Majid, a du customer living in Adhan, some areas were still not covered by the network and he was facing problems communicating with others.
