Al Shehi's mother died three months back and, since then, the young man had been visiting her grave in Al Rams area every Friday, friends and other sources told Khaleej Times.
"He was so obedient and loving to his mother," they said. Being the second eldest brother in his family, he looked after his siblings before and after their mother's death.
"He was kind and helpful, and his sudden death was a big shock to all his relatives and friends."
The 40-year-old, who worked at Adnoc, was a sportsman, they added. "He used to play as a goalkeeper for Al Rams football team."
The forensic report showed that Al Shehi sustained serious head injuries and suffered several fractures all over his body.
He was immediately rushed to the intensive care unit of Saqr Hospital, where he fought for his life for four days. "Unfortunately, he did not make it," medical sources said.
The funeral prayer for Al Shehi was performed on Tuesday afternoon at Abu Huraira Masjid, Al Julan area, in Ras Al Khaimah.
"He was then buried at Hudaiba Cemetery, next to the grave of his mother."
