Last September, the Sharjah Civil Defence announced it will use drone technology to deal with fires in high-rise buildings in the emirate, starting in 2025.

[Clarification: An earlier version of this report incorrectly stated that the new firefighting technology "will enter service in the first quarter of 2025." It also mistakenly reported that the drone was being tested by a company called Drone First Building Services. This information was taken from a September report about an unrelated project announced by Sharjah Civil Defence, and has no association to the pioneering project that was unveiled by Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority at UAE Pavilion during Expo 2025 in Japan.]
