Sharjah: 24-year-old UAE national archer, 14-year-old brother die after motorcycle flips over

A 24-year-old Emirati national team archer and his 14-year-old brother tragically lost their lives in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday night in Al Madam, Sharjah, prompting fresh warnings from authorities about the dangers of speeding and riding without proper safety gear.
According to Sharjah Police, the fatal crash occurred on Al Madam Road in the Fili area when the motorcycle, driven by the older brother, flipped over due to excessive speed.

The younger brother died instantly at the scene, while the elder sibling was rushed to Al Dhaid Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The police operations room received a report of the accident at around 8pm. Emergency response teams, including police patrols and national ambulance units, quickly arrived at the site, but it was too late to save the younger victim.
Funeral prayers for the brothers were held on Wednesday at Fili Mosque, and both brothers were laid to rest at the Fili Cemetery.
Sharjah Police have once again urged residents to adhere to traffic laws and avoid speeding, especially on motorcycles. Authorities also stressed the importance of wearing helmets and using protective gear, as well as ensuring that motorcycles are driven only by licensed individuals in appropriate areas.
"This heartbreaking incident is a reminder that motorcycles, especially when used unsafely or at high speeds, can turn deadly," said a police official. “We urge families to educate their children about the risks and make sure they are riding responsibly and legally.”
With two young lives lost, the tragedy has sent shockwaves through the local community and the sporting community, where the older brother was known for his achievements in archery.
