Fujairah authorities have confirmed that a fire was caused by falling debris following the successful interception of a drone by air defences. No injuries were reported, said a statement issued by the Fujairah media office.

Fujairah Civil Defence teams are currently working to contain the incident. The public has been urged to refrain from spreading rumors and to obtain information only from official sources.

This comes days after authorities dealt with a fire in the Fujairah's Oil Industry Zone. The blaze was caused on March 9 due to falling debris following the successful interceptions of drones by air defence systems.

This was the second such incident in FOIZ. A fire broke out during the morning hours of Tuesday, March 3 in the same place after debris fell due to drone interception by air defences.

While responding to concerns of loud sounds heard across many areas of the city, the Media Office said in a statement that relevant authorities responded to the blaze and brought it under control.
