Massive clouds of black smoke could be seen billowing from the location
A building under construction caught fire on Tuesday afternoon, Dubai Civil Defence said to Khaleej Times in a statement. The fire involved a construction waste storage area associated with the site.
The report was received at 1.47pm on May 20, and the Al Quoz firefighting centre was dispatched as the first responder, arriving on the scene within six minutes.
Fire brigades were seen rushing to the location after massive clouds of thick, black smoke could be seen billowing from the site.

Upon arrival at 1.53pm, authorities described the fire as moderate. By 2.46pm, the on-site commander reported that the fire was under control with no injuries. At 3.01pm, they confirmed that the site was being cooled down and would be handed over to the relevant authorities after cooling operations were completed.

Last week, a major blaze broke out in a residential building in Al Barsha.
The blaze originated from a gas leak at the Pearl View restaurant and cafeteria, situated in the 13-storey Al Zarooni building on Halim Street in Barsha 1, near the Mall of the Emirates.
