Fifteen students of Our Own English High School, Al Warqa, were injured after their school bus collided with a water tanker in Dubai on Monday morning.
The accident "resulted in 15 minor injuries among pupils, and two minor and one moderate injury among bus supervisors", Dubai Police said in a statement on Twitter.
The tanker driver also sustained moderate injuries, the police added. All injured were taken to Rashid Hospital.
"We can confirm there was an incident involving one of our school buses on the way to school this morning. All students are safe," the school told Khaleej Times.
"However, a small number of students and staff sustained minor injuries and have been taken to hospital where they are being treated. All other students who were involved have been taken back to school and have been given a thorough check-up by the school doctor," the school added.
Both vehicles have since been removed and traffic is back to normal, they said in another tweet.
Earlier, police alerted motorists of traffic congestion due to the accident.
"Traffic congestion due to a severe accident on Business Bay Crossing towards Al Rebat Road, please be extra cautious and take alternative ways," Dubai Police wrote on Twitter.
