UAE announces remote learning for schools, universities from March 2 to 4

The directive applies to students, educational staff, and administrative personnel in all public and private schools and universities nationwide

The UAE's Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research have announced the decision to switch to remote learning starting from Monday, March 2, 2026, until Wednesday, March 4, 2026, for students, educational staff, and administrative personnel in all public and private schools and universities nationwide.

Following the ministries' directive, the Sharjah Private Education Authority and the Sharjah Higher Education and Scientific Research Council have also announced the transition of studies to a distance learning system for the same time period.

The decision covers students, educational and administrative staff in all private educational institutions and higher education institutions in the emirate, with in-person studies to resume according to developments that will be announced at the appropriate time.

The relevant authorities have affirmed their commitment to the continuity of the educational process and ensuring the safety of students and educational staff, calling on everyone to follow official channels for any additional updates.

Nations like Qatar and Bahrain had earlier announced that they are switching to remote learning amid regional tensions after US, Israeli strikes on Iran.

Bahrain's Ministry of Education announced on Saturday that, as a temporary and precautionary measure, all educational institutions in Bahrain will shift to remote learning starting tomorrow. Distance learning will remain in place until further notice. The authorities made the decision to ensure the safety of students and faculty.

The Ministry of Education in Qatar has announced a transition to distance learning starting Sunday, March 1, 2026, in light of regional developments to ensure the continuity of the educational process.
