Soon, the service will be expanded to all bus stations in the emirate
Four Dubai bus stations will have free WiFi starting Sunday, December 1, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Saturday
The service will first be activated at Satwa, Union, Al Ghubaiba and Gold Souq bus stations. It it will be expanded later to include all stations soon, RTA added.
The authority added the initiative has been undertaken “as part of our efforts to ensure a seamless public transport experience".
Beginning November 29, Dubai also started three new bus routes, including Route 108, which directly connects Satwa Bus Station to Global Village, the RTA had announced.
Route 108 will operate on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and during special events. Service hours are from 2pm to 1am the next day, with 11 trips per direction daily and a 60-minute frequency.
Meanwhile, Dubai is also set to launch six smart stations with free internet access, and phone charging port for commuters. The initial rollout will begin in Al Barsha, with plans for expansion to additional locations across the emirate.
