With Dubai rolling out its free Covid-19 vaccine campaign on Wednesday, the emirate’s citizens and expats have a lot of questions.

To answer some of them, the Government of Dubai Media Office and the Dubai Health Authority have shared a video. Residents are being given the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which was recently approved for use by the US Food and Drug Administration and registered by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention.

Two questions that caught our eye was this: Who can’t take the vaccine? Are there any side effects?

(Khaleej Times has already listed out most of the questions and answers from the video in this report.)

Are there any categories of residents that can’t take the vaccine?

Yes. They are:

>> Children below 18 years

>> Pregnant women

>> Breast-feeding women

>> Women trying to conceive

>> People with compromised immunity.

>> People allergic to any other vaccine, food, substance, medication or those that carry adrenaline auto injectors.

What are some of the common side-effects?

>> Fatigue

>> Headache

>> Fever

>> Pain at the site of the injection
