Motorists faced significant delays during the rush hour commute on Wednesday morning with accidents reported in Dubai and traffic snarls in Sharjah.
Dubai Police have issued a statement on Twitter, advising drivers to stay cautious after an accident reported on Al Rebbat Road from Business Bay Crossing towards Nadd Al Hamar Road.

They advised motorists to take alternative routes to avoid delays.
In an advisory posted on their official social media pages, the police also warn motorists that red-light jumping can lead to fatal accidents.
According to Google Maps, an accident was reported on E11 Road near Al Nahda 1, causing huge tailbacks towards Dubai.

Slow moving traffic was also reported on the E11 route - from Sharjah to Dubai - particularly in Al Nahda, leading up to Hor Al Anz East.
