UAE leaders have condoled with His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
According to a statement issued by the Royal Court on Thursday, Sheikh Ahmed passed away in UK on July 9.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has condoled with the Ruler of Sharjah, the royal family and the people of Sharjah over Sheikh Ahmed's death. He prayed that the Almighty bless his soul and give the family the strength to bear his loss.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, sent a similar message of condolence to the royal family of Sharjah:
'My sincere condolences to my brother Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi and his family on the passing of Sheikh Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi. I pray they are granted patience and solace during these difficult and trying times. May he rest in peace.'
A statement issued by the Sharjah Media Office announced an official mourning period with flags at half-mast in the emirate for a period of three days, starting from the day the body arrives in the UAE.
Condolences will only be received via phone call, amid current circumstances, with numbers to be announced later.
