Beit Al Khair Society, as part of its Farha 'Joy' charity programme, has contributed up to Dh13.3 million to low-income families and vulnerable people during Eid Al Adha.
These included Dh12.23 million distributed as Eidiya to 4,489 eligible families, according to Abdeen Taher Al Awadhi, director-general, Beit Al Khair Society.
The charity had contributed Dh14.32 million as Eidiya to the same beneficiaries during Eid Al Fitr this year.
Al Awadhi added that the society has contributed 2,065 sacrificial animals to 7,228 needy families. "These were worth Dh1.1 million, bringing up the contribution to Dh13.33 million."
The society will also provide support to 14,000 needy students under Taleem education programme, including a special project for university students under the name 'Tayseer'.
