Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, on Friday shared a post on Instagram where be shared his selfie standing in the middle of the Sheikh Zayed Road just before the run started as if to to buck up UAE residents and motivate them for the run.
His Instagram story also shows aerial shots of the massive crowd during the SZR run and he and his team members can be heard cheering on the crowd as they commence the 10k and 5K runs.

For the first time ever, Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road has turned into a running track on Friday, November 8, 2019, as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2019.

This marks the first time that people have been allowed to run on a section of the 14-lane highway, giving participants a unique, on-foot perspective of iconic sights as they come together to demonstrate their commitment to an active lifestyle and DFC's vision to make Dubai the most active city in the world.
