Owners of boats and yachts in Dubai may now avail of docking services at the Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) Al Garhoud Marine Workshop.
Offered at competitive rates, the new RTA services include lifting and usage of outdoor maintenance yards for boats and yachts measuring up to 20 metres, said Mohammed Abu Bakr Al Hashmi, director of Marine Transport at RTA's Public Transport Agency.
"These are available to individual owners, as well as tourist companies," said Al Hashmi.
The RTA's marine workshop at Al Garhoud is strategically located in the middle of the Dubai Creek, making it accessible to most boat and yacht owners, including those from the Water Canal, the official added.
The workshop is open for maintenance services from 8am to 5pm, while docking and undocking can be done from 9am to  4pm, from Saturday to Thursday.
"It has to be noted that the RTA offers boat docking/undocking services and the usage of outdoor yards only, and does not carry out maintenance service. Boat and yacht owners have to bring in their selected firms to undertake maintenance services," Al Hashmi said.
