A US-based company is developing an eVTOL aircraft for commercial passenger service and is expected to start operations by 2025 or early 2026
The initiative, a recycling machine, is a pilot project and comes as part of the company's move towards the creation of a circular economy and efforts to minimise its footprint on the environment, in line with its sustainability strategy.
Ibrahim Al-Zu'bi, Chief Sustainability Officer, Majid Al Futtaim - Holding told Khaleej Times, "The pilot was launched in MAF's partnership with Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and was inaugurated Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister for Climate Change and Environment, on November 5."
The first 500 customers who come forward with 50 plastic bottles will be gifted the Nol cards. "Based on the success of the pilot, the programme will eventually be linked to MAF's loyalty programme, Share, where customers will get points for recycling efforts" explained Zu'bi.
