InstaShop goes head-on with pure online players

Dubai, 5th November 2020: InstaShop today announced the company's entry into the bulk discounted segment.

With e-commerce accelerating and the growing need to satisfy the demand to deliver convenience, InstaShop, one of the region's leading hyper-local on-demand marketplace sets plans in motion to offer bulky items at discount.

Most of our partner shops are unable to store large E-commerce items due to physical space limitations. The delivery of such items is often a challenge as well, since most retailers deliver by foot, car or motorbike. To cover this gap and make sure InstaShop users can satisfy all their grocery needs on our platform, we have identified that the delivery of bulky products at a discount is of importance.

In alignment with our vision to support the growth of our partners, InstaShop will introduce technology that supports the launch of micro-fulfilment-centres operated by our partners and powered by InstaShop technology. This will ensure the strong position of our partners for years to come and allow them to expand their business and compete with the likes of 'pure online players'. The first micro-fulfilment-centre will be launched in Jumeirah Lake Towers, operated by InstaShop as a pilot in order to optimize and streamline the processes.

The initiative brings an additional service to InstaShop's existing users, attracts new user segments and further ensures the continued growth of our network.
