His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday praised the efforts of the team headed by Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for organising the Global Women's Forum Dubai 2020.

He also thanked the UAE Gender Balance Council and Dubai Women Establishment for their contributions.

"Today, I attended the opening session of the Global Women's Forum Dubai 2020, with international attendance of more than 3,000 officials from 87 countries. We praise the efforts of the team headed by Manal bint Mohammed for organizing such international event. We also thank the UAE Gender Balance Council and Dubai Women Establishment for showing a bright picture of the Emirati woman and her skills," Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.

"We are proud of UAE's achievements, and we are thankful for the efforts of the mother of UAE, Sheikha Fatema bint Mubarak, as the UAE is now at an advanced position when it comes to empowering women. A third of the government members are women, and half of the Federal National Council are women, and 70 per cent of all university graduates are women."
