The first lunar eclipse of 2020 is set to take place this Friday and will be visible in the UAE.
According to Business Insider, the first eclipse of the decade will be a penumbral lunar eclipse taking place on the January 10, 2019.
During a penumbral eclipse, the Sun, the Moon and the Earth are aligned, but not in a straight line. This will cause the surface of the moon to appear to darken slightly.
The eclipse will also be visible from Europe, Africa, Asia, Western Australia and the Indian Ocean.
The celestial event comes just a few weeks after the UAE experienced a solar eclipse which enthralled citizens on the 26th of December 2019.
