Emirates is gearing up for a busy travel period this weekend for the Eid holiday. The airline said "peak travel" was expected to start from Wednesday evening with 'Thursday, July 30, marking the busiest time for departures in Terminal 3". (Flying into Dubai? Here's what you need to know)
Customers are reminded to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flight departure.

Travellers who present themselves less than 60 minutes prior to their scheduled flight departure will not be accepted for travel. Customers can also check in online on both their desktops and mobile devices from 48 hours to 90 minutes before flight departure.
Customers who opt to check-in online are reminded to visit the Emirates check-in counters at the airport to collect their boarding pass and to verify travel documents required for each destination country.

After checking in, passengers are also advised to make sure they get to their boarding gate on time. Gates open 90 minutes before departure, boarding starts 45 minutes before each flight and gates close 20 minutes before departure. If passengers report late Emirates will not be able to accept them for travel. Check-in and gate closure timings will be strictly followed to ensure flights depart on schedule.
Dubai entry requirements for UAE citizens and residents
Dubai has updated its entry requirements for inbound travellers. From August, 2020, Covid-19 PCR tests taken a maximum of 96 hours before departure will be mandatory for all travellers arriving to Dubai or transiting in Dubai. This includes UAE citizens, residents and tourists, irrespective of the country they are coming from. This measure helps assure tourists and residents alike of a safe and healthy environment within the airport and broader Dubai community. In addition, travellers heading to the UK and Europe on Emirates will also be required to hold a negative PCR test certificate.
Free, global cover for Covid-19 related costs

Customers can now travel with confidence, as Emirates has committed to cover Covid-19 related medical expenses, free of cost, should they be diagnosed with Covid-19 during their travels abroad. The airline will cover medical expenses of up to EUR 150,000 and quarantine costs of EUR 100 per day for 14 days. This cover is immediately effective for customers flying on Emirates until October 31, 2020 (first flight to be completed on or before October, 31 2020), and is valid for 31 days from the moment they fly the first sector of their journey.
