A source told Arabic daily Emarat Al Youm that a team from the Criminal Investigation Department visited the apartment from where the girl fell, and seized the mobile phone that was left in the balcony after the incident. The CID sent it to experts of electronic evidences to look for any clues.

The report said that despite the fact that she fell while standing on a light chair that is usually used in parks, police must always investigate all possibilities before reaching a final conclusion.
The 16-year-old girl fell to her death from a highrise on Sheikh Zayed Road while she tried to take a selfie, the Dubai Police confirmed earlier. Colonel Faisal Al Qasim, director of the police's security media, told Khaleej Times the girl tried to take a selfie from the balcony of her parents' 17th-floor apartment when she fell.
She was standing on a chair in the balcony when she lost balance and plunged to her death.
