Stepping up its crackdown on jaywalking, the Dubai Police on Tuesday issued a warning to pedestrians not to cross the road at undesignated places.
"Crossing from an unauthorized pedestrian lane is illegal and anyone caught doing so is liable to pay a fine of Dh400," the Dubai police said in a tweet.

On Monday, Ajman Police also launched a 'Road Crossing Safety' initiative to increase awareness among pedestrians.
The initiative also targets the motorists stressing that all motorists should drive with caution and give priority to pedestrians. Not giving way to pedestrians is punishable by Dh500 fine and 6 traffic points, Al Falasi noted.
