Dubai Customs vows to change for the best after low ranking
Results will serve as guidelines to boost the department's performance.
Dubai Customs, which has been ranked among the three lowest performing government service centres in Dubai, has vowed to change for the best. With a Customer Happiness Index score of 81.8 per cent, the authority said it will prepare a development plan to enhance its services.
Sultan bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman & CEO and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, said the results will serve as guidelines to boost the department's performance.
"The results make it necessary for us to adopt new development plans to achieve customer happiness and satisfaction," he said. "All procedures and practices adopted at Dubai Customs will be thoroughly studied and updated in a futuristic way to meet the needs and aspirations of our customers."
He added that this will help the entity keep developing to rank higher on the index "as envisioned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and as directed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council".
The director-general of Dubai Customs, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, said they will hold "continuous and intensive" meetings from Sunday to adopt development plans and programmes needed to provide "exceptional customer services".
"We will open communication channels with all our customers to identify the weaknesses to strengthen them," Musabih said.
"We will spare no effort to also identify the reasons behind these results.
"We will work on our weaknesses and sort them out. We will also do our best to make all our customs centres five star."
