 A picture of a Dubai doctor with a newborn trying to 'remove' his surgical mask is breaking the Internet amid the pandemic.
Lebanese doctor Dr Samer Cheaib, obstetrician and gynaecologist with NMC owned Fakih IVF Clinics, was amazed at the global attention the picture received as soon as he posted it. 

With over 40,000 likes and increasing, the picture is being widely shared on all social media platforms. Hardeep Singh Puri, Civil Aviation Minister of India, tweeted the picture saying: "Dubai-based doctor Samer Cheaib shared this photo of a newborn baby 'trying to remove' his surgical mask. Fills the heart with hope and joy.
The caption reads 'We all want a sign that we are going to take off the mask soon,' Indeed! But till then, let us take all precautions."
For Dr Cheaib, it was a regular day at work. "I conducted a C-section delivery where the mother bore a pair of twins - a girl and boy. I got the girl out first and then her brother, who spontaneously tugged at my mask trying to pull it off my face. We all laughed and joked how this was a good omen and that hopefully, we will be able to go back to pre-Covid times when wearing masks was not mandatory. Their excited father was clicking pictures relentlessly to capture the special moments of seeing his twin come to the world."
Dr Cheaib, who is passionate about creating awareness among women about the importance of experiencing motherhood, said he found the picture symbolic and meaningful.  
"I usually put pictures of babies on my social media handles with the intention of removing this fear of bearing a child among mothers also known as tokophobia. Also, to show how much happiness these bundles of joy can bring to their parents. This picture was very symbolic as I felt it gave us a sign of hope as it was an unpretentious action,' the 42-year-old doctor told Khaleej Times.
Expressing his happiness on the positive buzz the picture had created on social media, Michael Davis, the CEO NMC Healthcare said: "The birth of a child serves as a harbinger of hope and peace. Divinity speaks with us in the language of signs and symptoms, and with such innocent acts of children, perhaps we remain eternally hopeful of better, healthier and happier tomorrow."
