The mortal remains of the Indian youth who fell to death from a residential complex in Silicon Oasis will be flown to his hometown in Thirur, Malappuram district, on Thursday.
Sabeel Rahman, a 25-year-old engineer, fell to his death from a building near his work site on Monday. Following the completion of legal procedures, Rahman's remains will be repatriated on a flight to Kerala on Thursday morning at 2.45am, said Naseer Vatanapally, a social worker handling the case. His funeral will be held at his hometown at 12.30pm.
According to the official death notification, the direct cause of Sabeel's death was a cardiac arrest caused by a traumatic subdural haemorrhage caused by the fall.
Sabeel is the youngest of four siblings and the family does not have any known financial issues either. However, it is still not clear why Rahman, an urban planning engineer with an electrical engineering company, went to the building next to his work site.
"We remain completely baffled by this case. He has no known issues with the family; we don't know what happened," said Vatanapally.
Apparently, the watchman of the apartment complex where Sabeel fell from said he'd procured keys to an apartment on the 24th floor under the pretext of looking for an apartment.
"Before leaving for work, Sabeel had a burger and avocado shake as breakfast from a small café below his building. The bill was in his pocket when he was found. Also, he ordered a new phone just the previous day and asked his family to collect it," he explained.
"It is really mysterious. We have no idea how and why this happened," said Vatanapally. Rahman's parents are back home in Kerala and his brother lives in Ras Al Khor, Dubai.
