A travel agent who booked seven people on the Air India Express flight from Dubai that crash-landed in Kozikode said a computer glitch has saved many lives.
"I had around 25 to 30 people who wanted seats on the same flight. But my system got hung and by the time I rebooted the computer, the seats had sold out. I think that saved many lives," Abdul Rahman of Royal Explore Travel agency in Sharjah, told Khaleej Times.
He said he had booked seven people including two women, four men and one infant on the ill-fated plane.
"Though I do not know those people personally, it is really shocking and sad," said Rahman.
An Air India Express flight (IX1344) that departed from Dubai on Friday afternoon crash-landed at Kerala's Kozhikode airport. The flight skidded off the runway and fell 30 feet into a valley. Reports said the aircraft split into two on impact. Local media reported there have been multiple casualties, including deaths and serious injuries.
