The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi is extending support to the families and friends of the Air India Express plane crash victims, helping them fly home today, the ambassador said.
"Sincere condolences on this tragedy. We are assisting the next of kin and friends of the deceased to travel to India today," Pavan Kapoor, India's Ambassador to the UAE, tweeted on Saturday.

An Air India Express flight (IX1344) that departed from Dubai on Friday afternoon crash-landed at Kerala's Kozhikode airport. The flight skidded off the runway and fell 30 feet into a valley. Reports said the aircraft split into two on impact. A total of 18 people are confirmed dead.
The Indian consulate in Dubai has opened helplines for relatives and friends of passengers on board the flight. They may contact the mission on 0565463903, 0543090572, 0543090572, 0543090575.

Air India Express' has also reopened its office in Abu Dhabi but only to offer support to the families of passengers.  A helpline has been set up to attend to phone calls.
"Normal operations have not resumed. We are only attending phone calls to assist family members," a staff of Arabian Travel Agency, the general sales agent for Air India Express, said over the phone.
The staff said flight bookings for Vande Bharat Mission repatriation flights will continue to be offered from the India Social and Cultural Centre (ISC).
